Seit einer Expedition nach Nepal ist der erfolgreiche Naturphotograph Ted Harrison nicht mehr der Alte. Was er zunächst für den harmlosen Biß eines undefinierbaren 2-Meter-Monsters gehalten hat, entpuppt sich daheim bei seiner Schwester Janet im ländlichen Amerika als verheerender Fluch, der ihn bei Vollmond in einen reißenden Werwolf verwandelt. Bald stapeln sich in der Nachbarschaft die verstümmelten Leichen, doch zum Glück ist Janets Schäferhund Thor auf der Hut.
